The State Regional Planning Committee was established by legislative action (Laws of 1931, chapter 124). Attached to the Highway Commission (see WIHV85-A1883), the committee consisted of the State Chief Engineer, the State Health Officer, the Director of Conservation, and one member each from the Highway Commission, Industrial Commission, and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
